Ravi was a kind little boy who loved animals very much. But he never wanted to keep birds in cages or tie animals with chains. His mother and father taught him that animals, just like people, love to be free. So Ravi always helped animals near his home and school while listening carefully to his parents’ advice.

One rainy evening, Ravi was walking home from school when he heard a tiny squeal near a gutter. A small piglet was stuck inside with its leg trapped. Ravi asked many people for help, but everyone walked away saying pigs were too dirty to touch. Ravi felt sad for the frightened piglet. He quickly removed his raincoat, wrapped it gently around the piglet, and pulled it out with all his strength. The poor little animal was too weak to stand, so Ravi carefully carried it home.

At home, Ravi’s parents cleaned the piglet and took it to a veterinary doctor. The doctor treated its wounds, gave it medicine, and told Ravi how to keep it warm and healthy. Ravi helped feed the piglet every day until it became strong again. Soon the piglet happily ran around the garden. Ravi named him Bampi, and Ravi’s father built a small open shelter where Bampi could rest whenever he wanted.

A week later, Ravi and his parents visited a fun fair. There they saw some older boys throwing stones at a tiny baby monkey. Ravi’s father quickly chased the bullies away while Ravi’s mother carefully wrapped her hands with cloth before helping the injured monkey. They took the monkey to the same veterinary doctor, who cleaned its wounds and gave it medicine. After a few days, the monkey became playful and cheerful again. Ravi named him Kopi and made a cozy little nest for him on the terrace so he could come and go freely.

Soon Ravi, Bampi, and Kopi became the best of friends. Bampi helped Ravi dig carrots in the garden, while Kopi picked fruits from tall trees that Ravi could not reach. Bampi happily ate vegetable peels from the kitchen, and Kopi munched on ripe fruits. Ravi loved both his friends dearly, and they loved him too.

One hot Sunday, Ravi was returning from the market when a stranger stopped him. The man said he was Ravi’s father’s friend and offered him a cold drink. Ravi trusted him and drank it. After that, Ravi suddenly fainted. When he woke up, he found himself locked inside a dark cellar. He cried loudly for help, but nobody came. The next day, Ravi heard scratching near a tiny high window. To his surprise, it was Bampi and Kopi! Kopi cleverly opened the window from outside while Bampi brought a rope. Ravi climbed onto an old bed, grabbed the rope, and with great effort the two animals pulled him out. Their paws and hands were hurt from pulling so hard, but they did not give up.

Bampi used his strong nose to guide Ravi safely back home. Ravi’s parents hugged him tightly and cried with joy when they saw him. Ravi told the police everything, and the bad man was caught. Ravi’s parents reminded him never to trust strangers, no matter how friendly they seem. Together, they created a special family safe word: “Bampi-Kopi.”

From that day on, Ravi never forgot two important lessons:
Kindness always comes back in wonderful ways…
We must always be careful around strangers…
